Posted by: rickd on Tuesday, February 24, 2004 - 11:33 AM

News and Events That Might Interest You With the premier of Mel Gibson’s Passion of the Christ I have heard many views on how some one should view the movie. Many of the people I know that accept Jesus as their personal savior are putting assignments on each other. Make sure you see the movie they are told. Make sure you witness, pray for the non believers, and so on.

Please read on if you are interested....

Who needs these junk drawers and closets?

God's work in our lives December 12, 2003
Dearest Ones,
Well, the Christmas Cards have started to arrive now. I’m amazed at how people find us when we move so often!
First off we’d like to announce the birth of our first Grandson!!! The proud parents, Darren (our first born) and Emily, (our precious Daughter in law), had “Khai Ross”. He was 8 pounds and 7 ounces, 21” long, with a lot of dark hair! We get a chance to see him around the first of January and I’m SOOOOOO excited!
Charity is currently visiting her fiancé’s parents in Africa. From what I understand, they are REALLY sweet to her and she has enjoyed them very much.
My brother Michael and his wife, Shari, sent us a very nice picture/card of their little family in their Hawaiian outfits. They have surely been blessed this year! YOU DID IT GOOD, MICHAEL and SHARI. You deserve it! He has such a precious family. And “Happy Birthday” to all of them the first two weeks in December!! ;>D
We got a card from our Pastors from California. Many peeps to our special friends, Jim and Donna, too.
My “Uncle Ned” (AUNT) Uncle Earnest and Lee sent us a beautiful “Angel “ calendar and we got a lot of those “Annual Newsletters” from relatives and friends, hence THIS letter! HA! Really enjoyed my Mom’s letter, too!!!
What I wanted to share with you is not directed to anyone personally but in general it’s only my observation. If you come across someone who may be having some difficulties maybe you could pass the word if you haven’t already?
We just got back from the hospital. One of our sweet precious members of our church was having triplets. They were born five days ago from this date. We got a phone message that one of the triplets had passed away and was resuscitated and they are waiting for the baby to pass away again.

Blessings and Curses
Posted by: rickd on Thursday, October 30, 2003 - 10:51 AM

Everyday applications of bible teachings Been a while since I wrote so I thought I might share with you my thought for the day. There is another Ancient Paths seminar next weekend November 7-9 at Central Assembly Church. I just finished the training for facilitators of that trainging. I was reminded of what a complete idea it is based on.

Simply it comes from the idea of blessings and curses as described in Gods word:

Deut 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: (King James)

We are all surrounded each day with challenges. Sometimes so many I know it sets my head to spinning. In my past I used to say Lord why me? What did I do to deserve this? As I became more mature I realized that there was an enemy afoot that would throw his lies into the mix as well. As I grow older I am beggining to stop trying to figure out where the challenges come from and start to immediately search for the blessings within the challenge.

If I have got your interest please continue reading....

The Story of The Rich Merchant
Posted by: rickd on Saturday, August 23, 2003 - 01:40 PM

Everyday applications of bible teachings I found this story in one of the message fourms I frequent for wisdom and teaching. It tells the story of the rich merchant with four wives. Read it through there is much to learn before you get lost in the begining.

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives.
He loved the 4th wife the most.

He adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies.

He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much.

He's very proud of her and always wanted to show her off to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.
